Dr. Mark McCoy, DMD
Dr. Mark McCoy has been caring for patients in the Myrtle Beach area since 1999. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in 1994, followed by his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1999.
After beginning his dental career in Myrtle Beach, Dr. McCoy established his practice in Carolina Forest in 2003. Over the years, he has developed lasting relationships with patients and families throughout the community.
Professional Education & Clinical Experience
Throughout his career, Dr. McCoy has made continuing professional education an important part of his approach to dentistry, pursuing additional training in cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry.
His educational background includes coursework at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI Global), where he completed courses in Advanced Functional Aesthetics and Practical Occlusion for the Progressive Practice. These educational programs explore the relationship between dental aesthetics, bite function, and restorative treatment planning.
Dr. McCoy has also completed hands-on training at the Bicon Dental Implant Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, further developing his knowledge of dental implant techniques and restorative principles.
His continuing education, combined with years of clinical experience, contributes to his approach to comprehensive dental care, with an emphasis on oral health, function, aesthetics, and individualized treatment planning.

Dr. Allen Helsel, DMD
Dr. McCoy, one of our esteemed dental care professionals, was born in Lansing, Michigan, but grew up in Columbia, SC, where he graduated from Spring Valley High School. After earning a B.S. in Animal Science from Clemson University in 1994, he pursued his DMD degree, which he obtained in 1999 from the Medical University of South Carolina. He commenced his professional journey in Myrtle Beach in 1999 and later established his office in Carolina Forest in 2003.
